The Bahrain Teachers College of the University of Bahrain is in the process of offering several academic posts to a suitable application at various levels (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor), These positions will begin in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Recruitment Conditions:

1. Graduate degree from an accredited and internationally recognized university, preferably in one of the following fields: literacy (early reading, adolescent reading, language development, etc.); English or Arabic language; STEM education; primary/early childhood education; educational leadership; inclusive/special education; instructional technology; educational psychology
2. Teaching experience at the primary, intermediate, and/or secondary level is highly desired.  
3. Experience leading teacher professional development is highly desired.  
4. Scholarly background demonstrating a current or potential research program in literacy, early reading, adolescent reading, integrated STEM education, early childhood education, special/inclusive education, Arabic, English as a second language, school leadership, educational psychology, or sociology of education.  
5. Record of excellence in teaching in higher education and/or teacher professional development.
6. For Associate Professor a doctoral degree is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor within higher education.
7. For Professor, a doctoral degree is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor within higher education.
8. For Assistant Professor, a doctoral degree is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience within higher education or 6 years of teaching experience at the school level.

Responsibilities:

1. Teach courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students in either the English or Arabic language. Most teaching at BTC takes place in Arabic.
2. Develop new programs in response to the needs of the Ministry of Education.
3. Work directly with teachers in the public school system to support and develop their practice.
4. Develop and deliver programming to support private school educators.
5. Pursue scholarly collaborations with university faculty and schoolteachers.
6. Pursue a research agenda relevant to the specialization of the position.
7. Provide service to the college, the university, and the wider community.
